Experienced IT profile appointed new CEO of Wingmen Solutions

Starting on 1 February 2024, Peter Rafn will assume the role of CEO at Wingmen Solutions, succeeding Kåre Christensen. Christensen, in turn, will transition to a leading position within the Springboard Network, a European network of Cisco companies that Wingmen Solutions helped to establish in 2022.

Wingmen Solutions will get a new CEO as Kåre Christensen hands over the helm to Peter Rafn on 1 February 2024. Peter Rafn is a well-known profile in the industry and brings solid experience that will lead Wingmen on the journey toward further growth and internationalization.

“Peter is an incredibly skilled leader with strong inter-personal qualities – which is exactly what we need to help carry our unique culture forward,” Christensen stated. “With the continuous growth of Wingmen, the establishment of appropriate structures, systems, and processes becomes even more essential. This is crucial for ensuring scalability while sustaining a customer-centric focus and technological excellence. We are confident that Peter is the ideal candidate to align these requirements, preserving Wingmen’s entrepreneurial spirit and ability to attract exceptionally talented professionals in the future.”

For almost two decades, Rafn has served as CEO of various IT and tech companies, including NetDesign, Caverion, and Conscia. He has worked in multiple countries and is actively involved in the Board of Kemp & Lauritzen, Netic, and Trifork Security. Recently, he held the CEO position at GlobalConnect’s German subsidiary, based in Hamburg and Berlin.

“I’m well acquainted with Wingmen and the industry, and I’m impressed by the exceptional achievements of Kåre and the team,” Rafn said. “Now it’s time for Wingmen to embark on a new growth and international expansion chapter. With a talented staff and a strong network, the foundation is solid. I’m eager to dive into the work and become part of such a strong culture.”

Rafn, 55, holds a master’s degree in economics from Aarhus University, focusing on IT and finance. He is married to Charlotte and has two daughters, aged 15 and 18.

Assuming a new global position
After six years as Wingmen’s leader, co-founder Christensen is moving on to a new role in Europe. Starting on 1 February 2024, he will assume the position of CEO at Springboard Network, a European network of Cisco companies created by Wingmen and the Dutch Avit Group in 2022 with backing from Quadrum Capital.

“Springboard Network is primed for growth and success, mirroring the trajectory of Wingmen in Denmark, and I can’t wait to seize this fantastic opportunity. While I will miss my current job and colleagues, I am committed to maintaining strong ties with Wingmen and Denmark. I also anticipate Peter’s international experience proving very useful in further developing Springboard,” Christensen noted.
